*wink*wink ink Digital Stamps

This company designs and sells digital stamps and is hosting their first ever challenge! They offered a free image for crafters to use for their entry. My card is called "Missing You" and shows a bear wearing a red raincoat standing in a puddle. He looked so sad that I added the sentiment I thought appropriate. It was a fun card to make and I will submit it to their blog. Why not check things out for yourself at *wink*wink ink.

Make a Wish Birthday Card

What a cute card! I started with a cupcake and added pink glitter, a pink foil candle and felt ric-rac for the flame. The bottom border paper is from a two-sided design paper pad, Itsy Bitsy, from K&Company. I just love this paper. The collection has lots of "girl" papers but there are enough pastel neutrals that you can make projects for boys. I finished off the card by adding a pink bow and button. I think the dark background shows off the pink very nicely, don't you? Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps

As a member of Splitcoast Stapers and Paper Craft Planet blogs, I saw that Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps is looking for someone to join their Design Team from May 1st to August 31st. Prairie Fairy is a Canadian company that offers digital hand drawn images at very reasonable prices. There are lots of images to choose from but my favourites are the fairies and the flowers. There is something that will appeal to everyone so go over to the website and check it out for yourself at http://www.prairiefairydesigns.com/cart/home.php.

The fairy image that I used was posted as a free sample with which crafters were asked to submit a sample of their work. I made my "Make a Wish!" card shown above and used Copic markers to colour and shade the image and added pink glitter to enhance her wings. I finished up by adding organza ribbon behind the image. I thought that any heavier treatment or embellishments would only detract from her angelic face and calm demeanor. I used a very light hand when colouring the flower and again this was done so as not to take your eye away from the fairy. I chose the sentiment Make a Wish! because that's what fairy's do, don't they...make wishes some true? Hope you enjoy my card.

Celebrate! (Entry in 5 Challenges)

When looking through my scraps, I found a paper pad by Basic Grey called Kioshi. The blue-grey and greens in the paper inspired me to make larger flowers with my Pop Up Flower Die Set from QuicKutz to make the flowers and added a second layer of petals from Savanah paper by Three Bugs in a Rug. The "Celebrate" sentiment was added using Versamark Ink and White Opaque embossing powder by Stamp Stuff. To finish things off, I added orange ribbon by Offrey. I was very pleased the way the card turned out. Hope you enjoy it too!

Where's Spring? (Penny Black, Week 93; Allsorts Week 44)

Precisely! March is a curious month. We usually start off with great weather and end up with lots of rain or snow. We are almost at the end of winter...aren't we? I used a large Penny Black stamped image which I colored and shaded with Copic markers. It is vital that one uses the proper paper which I was able to find at an art supply store which will produce crisp images. I was pleased with the results. This card was entered into the following challenges:
1. Penny Black Week 93 challenge; and
2. Allsorts Challenge, Week 44.

St. Patrick's Day Card

When I was young, my mother always celebrated St. Patrick's Day. After all, she was born in Ireland. As a youngster, I always made my mother a card for her special day. Also, I always wore green on March 17th since I am 50% Irish and I have carried on her love of St. Patrick. Today's card is a fun card with a modern twist - shamrocks made of hearts. I found Kiss me I'm Irish ribbon to finish off the card.

Penny Black Challenge #90, Allsorts Challenge #41, Daring Cardmakers

Last Saturday, I took a workshop to learn more about Copic markers. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I was anxious to start using them. This card was inspired by the Penny Black collection, "Critter Party" . The three little mice gathered around the cupcake might help someone celebrate their birthday after they "make a wish". The aquamarine and hot pink cardstock and design paper from Heidi Grace Designs are uplifting and cheerful. Bronze brads and aquamarine organza ribbon and bows finish it off. This responds to two card challenges;

1. Penny Black Stamps, Sketch Challenge #90;
2. Allsort Challenge #41- my favourite thing (cupcakes!), and;
3. Daring Cardmakers - Aquamarine
